Abstract

Abstract

This research investigates the patterns of energy usage behavior among students in campus communal spaces. Efficient and sustainable energy usage has become global concern, and the campus is a relevant place to identify potential improvements in this regard. The research employs survey methods, observations, and data analysis to collect information on student behaviors regarding energy usage in the campus environment, particularly in the use of gadgets such as handphones/smartphones, laptops, and tablets. The data is analyzed to identify behavior patterns, influencing factors, and potential changes towards more sustainable behavior. The research findings indicate variations in students' energy usage behaviors both indoors and outdoors on campus. Factors such as environmental awareness, the availability of gadget charging facilities, and social norms influence behavior patterns in energy usage. The findings of this research can provide insights to enhance awareness of sustainable communal space design for students and to design a energy-efficient campus environment.
